Rachel, a junior in the Flight Science program at Saint Louis University, competed with her team against several schools from the Midwest. She was able to participate and place among top pilots in navigation, message drop, E6B, and simulated comprehensive aircraft navigation (SCAN), which significantly contributed to the amount of points won for her team at the competition, earning her the top female pilot position.

The competition is run by the National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA). Schools from around the country are divided into ten regions and compete in different events that tests a pilot’s flying abilities and knowledge. This is her second year competing at NIFA and is currently VP of the Saint Louis University flight team.
