Darin Martin

Darin came to AeroNavData in March of 2010 as the Aeronautical Source Manager and oversees the company’s Source Library, foreign source AIP subscriptions and Configuration Management system.   Darin joined AeroNavData after retiring from a 27 year career in the regulatory environmental engineering field.   His years of engineering and liaison experience is reflective in Darin’s day to day mindset of considering and pursuing all available options to an issue and accomplishing a task with good judgment and teamwork.  He is not only passionate about his responsibilities, but passionate about the accuracy of the performance. In addition to aeronautical source management, Darin serves as the Quality Assurance Manager, responsible for AeroNavData’s Quality Assurance program and insures compliance of the companies Type 1 Letter of Acceptance (LOA).

Prior to joining AeroNavData, Darin spent 10 years in environmental engineering and permitting and worked 17 years as a state regulator reviewing permits and enforcing state and federal environmental regulations for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR).  While at IDNR, Darin’s duties included communications and cooperative teamwork with several federal, state and local agencies as well as serving the public.  He served as the liaison between his department and the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency in an ongoing state effort, in the preservation of historic and prehistoric archeology sites and historic architecture.  His lengthy commitment to regulatory enforcement is significant to insuring AeroNavData’s commitment to source tracking, configuration management and our LOA compliance.

Personally, Darin spends much of his time investing in family and friends. A personal accomplishment was the complete restoration of his family’s craftsman style home, originally constructed in 1916. If not spending time with family and friends you may find Darin taking a much enjoyed motorcycle ride.  His wife of 27 years is a gifted teacher, who instructs special needs children at a private school in Saint Louis. They have a son who is a doctor of physical therapy in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and a daughter who recently graduated with a speech pathology/communication disorder degree, and currently resides in St Charles, MO.
